Young Governors’ Network comes to London and Sheffield

The National Governance Association’s (NGA) Young Governors’ Network will be returning to London and Sheffield this September.

Open to current Governors and Trustees, and those interested in volunteering, under the age of 40, the events will be held in London on Wednesday 11th September and in Sheffield on Thursday 19th September. The session will offer plenty of time to network and the YGN team will be giving a short pitch with an opportunity to discuss these topics with peers afterwards.

Currently, governors under 40 only make up approximately 10% of school governors (NGA survey 2019), so it’s a great opportunity to meet peers. The evening is sure to provide valuable insight and ideas whilst providing the opportunity to grow support networks in the governance arena. With the new school year beginning it is also a fantastic opportunity to share experiences which may help you or your peers for the new term ahead.

Who is this event for? All serving governors/ trustees aged under 40 are welcome – attendees do not need to be a member of the NGA or YGN, so please do share this information with your governing board and networks. If you, a friend or colleague is interested in finding out more about being a governor, please do come along/ invite them by registering on this page.
