Bucks Skills Hub

The Bucks Skills Hub is part of the Buckinghamshire Thames Valley LEP and its aim is to bridge the gap between education and employment. This is achieved through linking employer and educators to create a relationship and drive engagement between people from business and students.

The Bucks Skills Hub also facilitates and recruits for the Careers & Enterprise Company’s Enterprise Adviser network within Buckinghamshire. Enterprise Advisers (EA) are high calibre volunteers with experience of employment or self-employment, who work with a specific school to provide strategic help with arranging employer engagement in the school, using their contact list and skill set. Similarly to a school governor, EAs are volunteers that bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills to improve the schools, but in particular the careers strategy. Thanks to this close link in the roles, school governors work well in the position of Enterprise Adviser utilising both positions to benefit one another.
