Meet Jasmin Mensah, teacher and school governor

“I can’t be a school governor – I’m too young and don’t have enough experience.”

Jasmin Mensah is here to tell you that is definitely not the case!

Jasmin is a 27-year-old teacher and was recently appointed as a school governor at a secondary school in Hertfordshire. She wanted to share with other young people the three reasons she decided to volunteer as a school governor and inspire you to join her.

Young people bring so much to governing boards, not least a fresh perspective and a voice that may not otherwise be reflected. You can be a role model for children and young people – seeing people like them in roles across the school, including on governing boards, will give them confidence in what they can achieve and raise their aspirations.

Want to join Jasmin and find out more about the role? We’d love to have you on board!
