“Can young people be school governors? How do I know that I have the skills and experience schools are looking for?”
We hear this a lot from young people. Our very own Grace is here to tell you how she heard about the role and how she then decided that she had the skills and experience that would help her to succeed as a volunteer school governor.
Young people bring so much to the table but are under represented on school governing boards, perhaps because they don’t understand what governance involves or are unaware of the benefits it offers for personal development and career progression, as well as a fantastic opportunity to support young people in their local communities.
